Joe TaraskaAttorney Joseph Taraska has earned the distinction of being Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a Civil Trial Lawyer for nearly three decades.  Mr. Taraska graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1969 with academic honors and with the distinction of being named the outstanding cadet in law.  Because of his accomplishments, Mr. Taraska was selected as one of only a few cadets to attend law school.   Based on his academic qualifications he was admitted to one of the top ten law schools in the country, The University of Pennsylvania.  Upon graduation, Joseph Taraska entered the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate.   He was again competitively selected as one of only six Air Force Officers to attend the Eastern Regional Medical Center for the Armed Forces, for training as a forensic medical consultant.  Upon completion of his training he was assigned the legal representation of fourteen United States Air Force Hospitals in the Northeastern United States.

In 1977, upon completion of his military duty, Attorney Joseph Taraska entered the private practice of law in Orlando, Florida and became a partner at the firm of Maguire, Voorhees and Wells.   He subsequently, founded his own firm, Taraska, Grower, Unger & Ketchum, which remains one of the most successful health care law firms in Florida.

While practicing at Taraska, Grower, Unger & Ketchum, Joe Taraska specialized in representing hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers throughout the state of Florida.  In the year 2000, Attorney Taraska elected to utilize his training and decades of experience to assist those who had been injured while receiving healthcare. In 2010, he joined the prestigious law firm of Morgan & Morgan, where as a senior trial lawyer, Joseph Taraska  specializes in the fields of health law, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, products liability, pharmaceutical defects, injuries caused by tobacco ingestion and the violation of the civil rights of children and adults.

Mr. Taraska’s verdicts include; $28,000,000.00; $13,338,606.00; $6,224,085.00; $3,253,400.00 and $1,275,000.00.  In the year 2010 alone, he obtained settlements on behalf of his clients in excess of $10,000,000.00. In addition to his trial practice, Mr. Taraska has written textbooks, chapters and numerous journals articles on health law.   He is a nationally recognized speaker and has been invited by numerous professional and consumer groups to educate their members.
